Latest Crochet Project

Since I have rediscovered my love of crochet and am avoiding a long term project I need to find new patterns. Little Light Design Co. was having a sale a few months ago and I picked up a few of her patterns.

My current project is an Oval Cord Mat. I bought the yarn on sale at Michaels. I had difficulty sourcing the cord until I checked at Wawak. An aside, this is where I buy all my serger thread, needles and many of my bag making supplies. The selection and prices are fantastic. Customer service is also above perfection.

These are the supplies in action.

I went with the colors the pattern designer included. I had nothing against them as they seem very neutral.

It is turning out quite nicely. Once you get the rhythm of the pattern it actually crochets up fairly quickly. It can be tiring to your hands after a round or two due to the thickness of the materials used.

It is modeled with what appear to be pet feeding dishes. I have not yet decided how I will be using mine. It will not be used for pet feeding. Miss Kitty is many things, but a delicate, clean eater is not one of them. Her food bowls are placed into a super fancy (saved from recycling) cardbox flat box to try to keep the flinging food contained.

This a great watching tv or youtube pattern.
