Make A Mix

I do like to make my own dry rub mixes. I have been doing it for quite a number of years. I know exactly what is in each mix and I can control the salt level. A favorite is onion soup dry mix. For dinner the other night I made oven fries as a side. It is a recipe that seems fancy and a lot of work but actually is very easy.

I wash whatever potatoes I have on hand. Then slice them uniformly thin and place in a ziploc bag (if you want to cut thicker-like wedges they will just take longer to bake). Add some olive oil and then a tablespoon or so of the dry mix. Seal the bag and shake until the potato slices are coated. Spread some foil on a baking sheet and put down a little more oil olive (to prevent sticking). Open the bag and pour them in an even layer in the pan. Place in a 350 degree oven and cook until done (usually about 25-30 minutes).

All ready for baking

I serve them as an alternative to french fries. My family actually prefers them to commercial french fries.
