Making Plates
A friend asked me if I could make something she had seen on etsy. It involved decorating plates. I explained I had never tried that before but I was game. Dollar Tree sells plain colored glass plates. At the time they were each a dollar. We bought some plates and the adventure began.

This wasn't the design she requested but I thought I should start small. These are not food safe or even really hand wash safe. They are strictly decorative plates. Frankly, I am not sure they are even food safe without vinyl on them. After all they are only a dollar.
I did find that you can make food safe plates but they must be clear glass. The trick with them to adhere the vinyl on the backside of the plate.
I ended up using this plate as a table decoration during the fall season. It worked great to place Fall treats on at the dining room table.
I was able to make the order of decorative plates for my friend and learned a new skill in the process.
