Mid April Reading

I did not finish any books this week. I began a few and returned them to the library. They were just not my cup of tea.

Audio Book

Spare by Prince Harry. This seems to be a lot of poor me about this book. I understand each family is different but the author seems to spend quite a bit of time on what he does not receive instead of realizing the gifts and privilege he has experienced in his life. He really hates the press. It comes through on almost every page. I believe this probably could have used a good editor (though I suspect the Royal family is not good at taking direction). We are on chapter 40 and he is just barely out of his teens. The audio book is 15 cds long. I am only about 1/5 of the way completed. I am not sure if I will make it through the pity party much longer.

Kindle Book

Jane Austen at Home: A Biography by Lucy Worsley. This book is so interesting and well written. It appears that her family downplayed her talents during and after her death. What a shame.

Open City by Teju Cole. I needed to begin reading this Kindle loan from the library before it expired. I am only a few pages in but the book premise seems interesting. It is very much a character driven book.
