More Rice Krispies
The chocolate chip cookies I made using Rice Krispies did not even put a dent in the box I had. Well who doesn't like a good rice krispie cookie. An upscale version of the basic recipe floated into my social media feed - Salted Caramel Rice Krispies.
I had all the ingredients in my pantry so I was off to the races. I had earlier this summer purchased caramel bites but did not end up using them in the intended recipe. They were the only slightly "exotic" ingredient.
I melted the caramels and poured them over the krispy mixture. The sparkles on top are grains of sea salt. I then melted the chocolate and swirled it on top.
I must have melted more chocolate than needed so the swirling effect was not the best. These are very rich and utterly delicious. I took some into work to share and I believe I could rule over my entire school if I offered them as payment for making copies, etc.
They are not a keeper cookie in that they are best consumed within a day of making. This is not a problem because once you eat one you are tempted to sit down and eat the entire pan. Don't say I did not warn you!
There will probably be at least one more recipe using rice krispies in the near future. How many of those little rice krispies are actually in the box? I swear they are reproducing in my cupboard. Just my luck this is the one cereal my family has no interest in actually eating as nature intended.
