My Year in Books 2022

Goodreads sent me a link to look at my 2022 in books recently. I read 112 books, which was my reading goal for the year. According to Goodreads I read 39,909 pages. The shortest book I read was 70 pages and the longest was 672. The average book length I read was 356 pages long. The average number of stars I gave a book in a review was 4.4. I tend to give quite a few 5 star reviews. If I really dislike a book I will just stop reading it and remove it from my digital bookshelf. If I just kind of not enjoy the book but finished it I will usually give it a 3 star review. I also do not distinguish between books I have read either in hardcover or kindle or listened to as an audiobook. All of those are reading in my opinion.

Being an author is very hard and there is a lot of effort and heart that goes into writing a book. Why should I down grade a book simply because it is not the book for me at the time I selected to read it. I "dislike" the book because of either the subject matter or maybe the editing. The writing per se is not the issue, it is more likely the reader.
