Never Have I Ever
I promised you a story in yesterday's post so here it is. I had been listening to the audio version of the book, A Line to Kill and I had finally reached the last disc in the set. There I am just driving along in the car and putting the last cd in the player. The cd starts and I think, Hey, I already listened to this portion of the book!. When I stopped I ejected the cd just to make sure I hadn't put in a the wrong cd by mistake. No I put in the right one. Whoever burned the cd burned 2 copies of the story for disc 4 and labeled one of them as disc 7.
I have never had an issue like this when listening to books on tape. Here is issue/annoyance number 1. The author was just about to reveal the solution to the mystery on disc number 7 which I do not have a copy of to listen to. Issue/annoyance number 2. This is a very popular book. I had already waited quite a few weeks on the waiting list before my turn arrived. I returned the cd set to the library and explained the issue. They apologized and said they would be correcting the copy. The librarian informed me I would be put back on the waiting list to check out the book again. What! I'm sorry, but can't you put me at the top of the waiting list.
It is slightly annoying because now I have to wait again to check out the book (all the actual paper copies are also checked out and have a waiting list). I can wait my turn but it is annoying,
