Newest Bag

A few weeks ago I made the Field Bag. At the same time I bought the kit and supplies for that bag I also purchased all items needed to make the Town Bag. This is a similar bag in some ways to the Field Bag with construction, but larger.

I made an error when cutting out the largest piece. It was not cut to the correct length. Of course I did not discover this until I had cut out some other pieces so I had to cut a piece and sew it on to the largest piece to make up the difference. It worked out fine, but I forgot how this fabric frays. I should have serged or zig zagged the joined pieces. All the fraying that may occur will be on the inside.

This pattern has rivets. I conquered grommets on the last make. I have now also conquered rivets.

My rivet tools and a complete strap. Just like the grommets not anywhere near as hard as I had imagined. This bag also has lots of pockets.

The inside of the bag. The color is strange, not true to life. The white chalk lines are only there to help me with correct placement. They rub away after a little use.

This shows it much more true to life color. Look at those lovely rivets.

Luckily it passed inspection by the Boss. She does feel the top should not be cinched quite so much to make it easier to jump into and out of the bag. I was sorry to have to tell her this bag is for knitting, not kittens.
