Overalls

I've never been a big overall lover (too much effort to go to the bathroom), but they just look so comfortable. Another sewing blog I follow made a pair of Burnside Bib overalls from the Sew House Seven company. They looked super comfortable. I do love the finished project but this is not a beginner sewing pattern. The pattern was very well written and illustrated. You might feel overwhelmed when you first look at the directions. There are only about 10 steps but each step has 12-15 mini steps included. I think all the extra details they include make the overalls look like ready to wear clothing.

The back pockets

I adjusted for my height, but when I attached the back pockets I forgot about shortening the pattern. The pockets were more like back of the knee pockets and no where in the vicinity of my rear. Luckily I know how to use a seam ripper.

Also the next time I will not be doing the turn method for the ties. Every time I forget how much I detest turning tubes of fabric.

The front

I did version #1 with an invisible zipper. I also liked in the pattern how they showed you various ways to tie the overalls. I tried them all until I found the one that will allow me to use the restroom unassisted in getting the overalls back on after using the facilities.

The back

I haven't worn them in the wild yet. I made the long leg version and it has only recently stopped being 6000 degrees. I hope to get a chance to wear them soon. They are my happiest making me make I have completed in a few weeks.

My fabric is a soft denim fabric that has been in the collection for quite a while. It is so soft and comfortable to the skin.
