Purple Pullover
I am a member of the American Sewing Guild (ASG). Every month we hold meetings both in person and virtually. I attend the virtual meetings. The "challenge" for the month of July was to sew a pullover. I bought some wonderful french terry and rib knit from Mily Mae Fabrics. The fabrics matched perfectly. I am not sure why I did not buy 2 yards of the french terry so I had to do some creative pattern piece matching.
I used the Parker Pullover from Peek-a-Boo patterns. It was perfect. The directions were very easy to follow. There are actually a few options on the pattern. I believe I might try another version with the rounded pockets.
The pattern included suggestions for top stitching. I love a good top stitch. It really can make a piece look more finished.
The topstitching on the cuffs looks lovely. You can also see some of my creative fabric matching. I did not have enough to cut out both sleeves from the french terry so I used some of the ribbing.
I did the version with a kangaroo pocket and hood. Due to a lack of fabric I did not line the hood. Instead I did a French seam in the hood. I was not able to put in my thumb cuffs on this make due to a lack of fabric. These pictures show the true color of the item. The sleeve picture is very washed out for some reason.
You can just barely see the French seam in the hood. The line across the back is top stitching. It was a very satisfying sew and I think will get quite a bit of wear in the Fall and Winter.
