Reading in Mid May

I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith. I would not say I totally enjoyed this book, it did have its moments. Also finished The Returned by Jason Mott. The premise of the book was very interesting. It was well written and was an easy read.

Hardcover Book

Murder Road by Simone St. James. I read an earlier book by the same author which was based in Upstate New York. I thought I would try another book by the same author. This book is set in the upper mid west and is a creepy thriller. This is not a genre for me I believe.

Audio Book

The Woman in Me by Britney Spears. This is the second book in a row that discusses how intrusive and horrid the paparazzi press is to people. I have never been a large consumer of celebrity gossip and I am glad I have never been so. The true villains of this story are the author's own family. Becoming famous when you are very young does not allow people to grow and make errors in judgement. She admits to acting wild but I do believe that she suffered from postpartum depression (2 kids in 2 years will do that). What ever she may have done or not done taking over her life and controlling her and most importantly to her family her money did not justify the actions taken against her.

Kindle Book

Jane Austen at Home: A Biography by Lucy Worsley. I have books borrowed from the library that needs must be read before they are returned so this sits on the back burner of my kindle.

Diva by Daisy Goodwin. A fictional account of the life of Maria Callas. I have just begun the book but find it fascinating so far. The beauty and strength of her voice are outstanding.
