Sewing Failure
Well I "finished" the bunny basket, but it is already in the scrap heap. This is the second pattern I have made from the website. Frankly I am not sure I will ever make another one of her patterns again. I made the black canvas bag with the straps a few months back and I had trouble with that one also.
Her pattern directions are very wordy. I am trying to save paper and time and read them from the computer. It appears I am too old for that nonsense and should just print the directions out so I can highlight all the information I need. She writes about each step but does not bold anything important. In my case this means I breeze right past all the important steps because she is just droning on in the directions. I also find her photos sometimes less than helpful. Again this might be my vision difficulties (I have glacoma and often need items enlarged to see details), but I often have trouble deciphering her directions based on her photos.
The issue this time was the top of the basket. She had you fold down 1/4 inch and then I totally missed that the next fold should have been 1/2. I thought it was another 1/4. I folded and sewed them this way. The issue was then when I went to put the ribbon in at the end I had no casing in which to insert a ribbon. I tried to fix it but just gave up and the whole project is just gone.
I was not all that convinced I would ever use the silly little item anyway. In my last post I discussed how very tiny this object is - I cannot imagine gifting anyone something so tiny. It is a lot of work for such a tiny gift that the recipient will probably not ever use again and will most likely throw out.

It appears that my crafting life is just not functioning. First the knitting debacle of Saturday and now a sewing fail. Honestly I am thinking of just chucking all the crafting. It seems like it is not bringing me any joy at this moment in time.
