Successful Sock Making
I have been working on a new pair of socks since Christmas Eve. I cast on a pair of Garland socks (pattern designer is lolodidit) using yarn I had in my stash. The yarn is also from lolodidit, a sparkly sock color called Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy (according to the label purchased in 2018). The dyer used to live in my area but has since moved to Kentucky.
I am very happy with this knit. I have finished one of the pair and am in the process of turning the heel on the second sock. The pattern is very easy to follow. The heel is a new to me kind called a Dutch heel. The sock fits - which is quite nice because the last few pairs I have knit have not been good fits.
The toe and heel are done in a purple sock yarn I had in my stash also. I think it might be a Serenity sock yarn, but am not sure. The sock pictured above is the right leg. It might seem like it is cabled but is just a clever twist on stitches, no cabling. I am knitting them on a 9 inch circular needle and I really love this size for knitting socks. I dislike knitting with double pointed needles (my stitches always fall off and I get terrible ladders in my knitting). Before discovering 9 inch needles I was knitting socks using a magic loop.
