Saturday Tea Post

tea

Like I need more tea, but…this month my yarn subscription box from Yarnable had a link to a new tea shop. The shop included a tea strainer and a coupon code to try some new teas. The business is Plum Teas, based in the pacific northwest.

I was intrigued by the London Fog mix. I love me a London Fog (as an aside I find the quality of them at Starbucks varies widely. It also appears that they are not a drink any of the workers actually want to make for you. When I place the order I am usually met with a loud sigh and the fact that I will have to wait longer than normal as a deterrent for me to change my order. The best ones but still with inconsistent quality issues are found at Dutch Bros.). I thought well let me try this mix and see if I can make them at home. Verdict: it is just okay. I think I will have to add cream or something else, like real vanilla to the mix to “jazz” it up and frankly it did not taste like a London Fog to me. The horror I might actually have to just begin making my own at home.

I also got a new Earl Grey blend, Creme Brulee Earl Grey to taste test. I love Earl Grey and will see if this needs to be added to my lifetime supply. The other items in the order were a sample of Strawberries & Cream black tea and Gratitude Blend.

The shipping was very slow on my order. It took over 2 weeks from the time I placed the order. I even sent a nice message to the company to ask where the order was. I did receive a response after a few days stating that my order was being shipped out that day. The other tea shops I order from are never more than a week with delivery. It was fun to try a new to me tea seller but I will probably just stick with my favorites, Adagio and the Whistling Kettle.
