Yarn in 2024

According to Ravelry I have knit or crocheted 30 items for a grand total of 11,150 yards of yarn (a little over 6 miles)! Every year I get better and better about tracking my yarn usage. I have a small scale which makes it easy to weigh how many grams I actually use in a project. Luckily Ravelry does the math for me to convert grams to yards.

6 of the 30 projects were crochet and used a total of 3,622 yards of yarn. This is pretty good considering I really only picked back up my crochet hooks again in 2023. The biggest yarn user was the Mandala Granny Pop Pullover followed by just a few hundred less yards My Crochet Era Dress.

The largest user of yarn in knitting was the cardigan I completed in August, it used 1,225 yards of yarn. My 5 largest users of yarn at over 1,000 yards were sweaters. I think I need to make more sweaters to get the stash down. I knit 8 pairs of socks! 13 of the items I created were for charity.
