Beginning of June Reading Report

I continue to gobble up the books. I finished All the Missing Girls by Megan Miranda. If you like a bit of a mystery and thriller this might be for you. I personally found it a very confusing read because of the structure. I also finished Queen Victoria: Daughter, Wife, Mother, and Widow: Daughter, Wife, Mother, and Widow by Lucy Worsley. I have thoroughly enjoyed every book by Lucy Worsley I have read. She makes history interesting and an easy read. I also enjoy the feminist perspective in her work. I read The Good House by Ann Leary. It is set in Massachusetts and the main character is areal estate agent. It is well written. It held my interest but just barely. It would be a great airplane or vacation read.

Hardcover Book

Rose Daughter by Robin McKinley. A retelling of the fairy tale Beauty and the Beast. It is interesting and the writing is quite good. It is an older title so should be easy to locate in any library.

Car Audio

Stone Blind by Natalie Haynes. She is another favorite author exploring the classics from a feminist perspective. A retelling of the story of Medusa. The audiobook is read by the author.

Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt. I had to start this audio book even though I was not finished with the one listed above. This book has been chosen by my city for its One Book, One Town. This means everyone in my community is encouraged to read the book. Our local library system will be bringing the author to visit in July for a book discussion. I received the audio version but need to finish it because it is not renewable. I have just started and so far it is very enjoyable.
