Big Mac in an Instant Pot

A blog I follow for recipes posted a good recipe I wanted to try - Instant Pot Big Mac. I tried it for the dinner the other day. You will need some extra equipment besides your instant pot. You will need a springform pan that fit into your instant pot. A few years ago I bought a set of instant pot accessories on a black Friday deal. I really only needed one of the items in the set of accessories but it was cheaper to buy the whole set. I have actually gotten the most use out of the springform pan - go figure!

Of course there were modifications - I can't leave well enough alone. I did not add onions. I also did not have the sauce ingredients. I rarely have bottled commercial dressings on hand. If we need dressing for a salad I usually just make my own. I found that I was wasting lots of bottled dressings because they expired before they were used up. After a while I started making my own dressings because I can control the ingredients and usually just make enough for the meal with no leftovers. Any woo I used some chick fil sauce we had on hand. Kind of ironic using another fast food brand sauce in a rival fast food copycat recipe. Well that is just the kind of dangerous, wild and wacky life I lead!

I also did not add lettuce at the end (we didn't have any on hand) or sesame seeds (they are not a family favorite).

The layers

It turned out quite delicious. Did it taste exactly like a Big Mac - no, but still delicious. I served it with some french fries (of course). It heated up nicely for lunch the next day.

All finished and ready to be cut into slices for dinner.
