Cloth Napkins
A pattern company I follow and have purchased from releases free patterns around the holidays. This year one of the projects was Merry Napkins. I thought these would be perfect Christmas presents for some family members.
You may recognize the fabric since I used the scraps I had from making my Christmas purse to make these.
The magic is in the folding of the napkin after it is sewn. The pattern includes the fold lines and it is all explained in a blog post. This is a very quick project. it can be completed in less than an hour including printing the PDF pattern and taping it together.
It would also be a very nice beginner sewing pattern. You do have to sew on a curve but that would help beginner sewers learn to control their fabric. It is also a good pattern for beginning sewers because it shows the importance of pressing your garment as sewing. The present was well received and other friends and family are now asking if they could get a set too please:)
