Freezer Pizzas

I have a real family that sometimes wants a quick snack. Enter in the humble small frozen pizza. You can make these as easy or as complicated as you would like. I do make my own pizza sauce. Commercially prepared pizza sauces are expensive (why it is only sold in tiny jars), too sweet, and have too many unpronounceable words in the ingredient list. I do not make my own bagel bites or english muffins. I have made made both of these items in the past and they are delicious. In the interests of preserving my own sanity I just bought commercially prepared bread bases since my family can eat through quite a few of these in a short amount of time.

To satisfy all your eaters you can customize the pizzas. For this batch I made plain chesses pizzas, pepperoni and Hawaiian style with ham and pineapple.

I recently found this very easy and quick pizza sauce recipe.

After I made the sauce I gathered all the other ingredients needed. The ham was leftover from our Christmas dinner. I canned the pineapple in November.

I just put them together and put them in the freezer. It is a good idea to "flash freeze" them. This simply means you lay the tray in your freezer for about 1-2 hours. This gives all the tasty bits time to adhere to the crust. After the few hours in the freezer I pulled the tray out and individually wrapped mine in seal wrap. They are now residing inside my freezer in a large ziploc bag with the directions for reheating on the outside of the bag.

They are the perfect snack. We baked ours in our air fryer and they are delicious.

There is really no reason why you have to make this as a freezer meal. I think it would be a fun family dinner. You could just provide all the toppings and everyone can make their own pizza. This is another recipe where you can really make it as you wish. Maybe you want to make these as breakfast pizzas or as white pizzas without red sauce.

I suspect they are much less expensive than the ones you buy at the grocery, but no cost per serving analysis was completed (who has time for that).
