Magic Pillowcases

A year or so ago I was looking for a way to use up some smaller pieces of fabric I had left from various sewing projects. I located a video on magic pillowcases from a woman named Liz. The video has a little too much introduction talking but the great thing about a video is you can fast forward.

She gives you the dimensions to cut and models step by step how to complete the project. The pillowcases turn out great.

I have made almost a dozen different pillowcases using her directions and they are all very nice. It is a great project for using up larger pieces of fabric stash. The length of piece that is not enough to use in a clothing project, but too big to cut up for patchwork quilting.

This is just one of the many sets I made for Christmas presents this past year.

I love how you have no seams showing. I do use my serger on the majority of the seams which makes it even faster to finish. It is also a wonderful present - who doesn't need another set of pretty pillowcases.
