Making Lemons into Lemonade

The other night I tried a new recipe. It looked like a show stopper for the dinner table. You took a round steak and did a few simple cuts and braided the meat around a glass bowl while baking.

Um...that did not turn out looking like the picture. It was not quite a pinterest fail, but pretty close. It tasted delicious just did not look anything like the picture.

It baked just fine but meat should probably not be braided. I saved the cooked meat and made it into a different dinner variation the next night - Steak Sandwiches.

I sliced an onion and fried it in butter then cut up the pieces of the braided meat fiasco and reheated them in the skillet. I had a few buns which I toasted with butter. Placed the meat inside and melted cheese on top. A dinner save! My family was actually much happier with the steak sandwiches then the braided meat dish.

Not everything is going to be a delight in the kitchen you just need to know how to repackage your mistakes.
