New Sloppy Joe Recipe

My family enjoys a good sloppy joe a few times a month. I recently found a new recipe for a non-tomato based version, Cheesesteak Style. When I attended college in Philadelphia I ate more than my share of cheesesteaks - they are delicious.

I cut up all the mushrooms, peppers and onions before I began the cooking. Mushrooms are not listed as an ingredient in the recipe, but I decided to add them. They overpowered the bowl of ingredients a little bit (trust me there are onions and red pepper hiding under the mound of mushrooms).

It turned out quite yummy. It will go into the menu rotation plan. I served it with a broccoli salad and french fries.

We rarely eat our sloppy joes in a bun. The leftover reheated quite nicely for lunch the next day.
