Taroko Skirt Part II/Finish

Okay, I enjoyed sewing this pattern, but for the life of me I cannot remember how to spell the name of the pattern. I have to look up in my account every time I want to refer to the pattern to make sure I am spelling it correctly. The pattern is the Taroko skirt from Itch to Stitch. The pattern was released about a month ago. I am not sure who I am since I not only sewed up this pattern shortly after its purchase but used fabric I had purchased within a month of its acquisition.

When we left off I had just completed the zipper fly. The skirt has 4 pockets - be still my teacher heart. I love a pattern with pockets. I am always carrying something when at work. Usually I need a place to stash my classroom keys.

The first pockets I completed are on the back of the skirt. These would be a great place to add embroidery or fancy stitching. Why do you not notice flaws in your sewing until you post the pictures on your website :( The stitching on the bottom right of the pocket is not looking very nice.

There are also 2 back darts. I lined up the pockets to sit over the dart line. In addition it has 2 very deep front pockets.

These sit to each side and are slanted tops. Another spot to add a design feature if so inclined.

I found a fancy button to add to the waistband. My grandmother kept a button jar and it has some lovely pieces. Here is the final skirt ready to wear.

The hem does sit straight I just forgot to pull it straight for the glamour shot.

It will be a wonderful skirt to wear to work. The fabric washes nice and does not need pressing. When you select the correct fabric for a garment make it is like the stars align.
