Quick Trip

My family and I did a quick weekend trip to Flagstaff, Az to visit a wool festival (see tomorrows blog to see all the goodies I purchased). It is between 4-5 hours from our house depending on traffic, driving speed, etc. We made a few fun stops along the way.

Williams, AZ is billed as the gateway to the Grand Canyon. They have opened a few new amusements over the years besides the train to the Grand Canyon.

This is a huge coaster ride. The scent of being way up among the pine trees was heavenly before the ride began.

This is the other ride. You sit on one of the very large tubes and speed down the tracks. Both rides were quite fun and we enjoyed the nice break in the drive.

We also stopped at the Deer Farm. We have been bringing our DD here since she was very little.

As the name implies there are quite a lot of deer. The animals are brought to the place by the AZ Department of Wildlife. Many of the deer are orphaned babies when they arrive. The parents have either been shot or lost in a wildfire.

They also had some baby goats who talked quite a bit. We had a great weekend get away (and bought some wool).
