The Hudson Bag - Part 2 (side pockets and top)

The next portion of the bag was completing the side panels. These included magnetic snaps. A piece of hardware I have not ever inserted. Like the majority of life skills, it looks more intimidating that it really is once you get going.

One of the hardest parts was figuring out which is the female portion of the snap. After half of it was inserted the directions called for pleats in the side pockets.

The other portion of the snap is attached to the closing flap.

Here are the finished side pieces. I was quite tickled about how well these snaps work. If I make this again I will (of course) order more than enough webbing. I was unable to order more when working on the project because it was sold out on the website. I will cut the small piece of webbing used to attach the D ring just about 1/2 inch longer to make sure it is completely incased in the flap. Again this does not look like much on the blog but was a couple of hours of work in the sewing studio.
