Week 8 of YOP 14
End of the month so a final monthly report. Going back to work full time has impacted the amount of free time I have in the evenings and my energy level.
Knitting Plans/Goals
August goals: finish Jeffrey Pine Cardigan (only a sleeve to go), finish Spooky Roller socks, add 4 mini skeins (#9, 10, 11 & 12) from the Christmas in July Advent project of the Anthology Throw, finish the orange Seafarer's vest which is a charity knit and finish the Knitmas in July shawl.
Update: I finished one of the pair of Spooky Roller socks. I did add in all the skeins planned for the month. I did not finish the Seafarer's Vest but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel on the project. The sleeve on the cardigan appears to be taking longer to knit than the entire sweater. I only have about 5 inches left but it is taking FOREVER. I made progress on the shawl but is is also not finished. About a 20% success rate for the month. I did my weekly yarn update yesterday.
Sewing Plans/Goals
August goal: This month will be about using sweater knits in my fabric collection. I also want to continue to use the sweatshirt fleece I keep finding (I swear it is reproducing whenever my back is turned). I might actually make items for an upcoming weather season before that season actually arrives.
Update: I sewed each week in the month, just not always what I had planned for the month, I just finished a sweater dress (post on Monday) so I at least did sew one item in the target fabric. I sewed using sweatshirt fleece which honestly takes up even more room in the stash than the sweater knits. I am calling this one 100% because I am at least moving stash fabric into garments. (Um...let's not mention new fabric purchases).
Canning Plans/Goals
August goal: I cannot realistically see myself with time or energy to can anything this month. Though I might sneak in another bone broth session.
Update: As I suspected no canning occurred but I have been using some canned goods. It is so nice to have jars of my own homemade stock within easy reach to make a simple dinner even more special.
Embroidery/Cross Stitch Plans/Goals
August goal: work at least 1 hour a week on the project.
Beginning of August
End of the month
Update: I did complete this goal for the month 100%
Crochet Plans/Goals
August goals: Finish the Taylor Swift inspired crochet dress.
Update: I am probably 85% complete on this project. It will be a carry over into September.
Cricut Plans/Goals
August goal: complete 5 birthday cards in the month. It appears I know a lot of people born in the month of August.
Update: I did not quite complete 5 birthday cards but did 3 completed and sent. 75% complete
Misc Goals/Plans
August goals: continue with budgeting, workout 3 times a week, write 4 letters/cards to send to friends
Update: All of these goals were worked on but not all were completed in full. I have yet to be able to get 3 workouts in a week since I returned to work full time at the beginning of the month. It does seem like I have begun to catch my breath at work so this might go better next month. But of course now I am sick so working out will be taking a back seat until my health improves..
