Winner Winner
A local television station and a credit union sponsor a twice monthly award for teachers in my school district. The winner has to be nominated by their principal. I was lucky enough to be nominated and won for this month. The television crew surprised me in my classroom.
My students were beyond excited (as was I)! I was interviewed by the camera crew as was my principal. I received a very nice prize box and a check.
When they asked me how long I had been teaching and I announced 28 years they couldn't believe it. Some of the people presenting the award and arranging the surprise were probably not even 28 years old themselves.
I love my job and teaching kindergarten. It is very nice to be recognized for all my hard work and dedication. The piece about my and my prize will air on the link above beginning on Tuesday, May 14th. It is a very nice way to end a school year.
