YOP 7/63

You forget just how tiring the first week of the school year is, at least in Kindergarten. I managed a few things, but mostly just came home, put my feet up and went to bed very early. It takes a week or two to get back in the working/home life groove.

Knitting

  • 6 pairs of socks

  • Finish the Naughty Sweater 7/6/23
  • Finish the sweater for my sister
  • Summer sweater knit (Vibes)
  • cardigan for me
  • Stephen West project
    • Secret Sock Along 8/12/23

  • Row and Kates project
  • Tifneilan project
  • Petite Knits project
  • Melissa K designs project
  • Stephanie Lotven design project
  • Joji Locatelli project

Weekly Update: I finished the first sock in the pair. I have already cast on for the matching second sock.

Crochet

Weekly Update: The crochet has been on the wayside for another week:(

Cross stitch

  • finish Tower of London card 8/5/23
  • finish Mom project I began in 2000 (this will be the hardest to complete. I was working on this project when my mother passed away)

Weekly Update: I am hoping to get the next project out and begin working on something this week?

Cricut

Weekly Update: It wasn't "technically" a Cricut project because I hand cut the items, but still an idea I learned from all my Cricut making (Faux Leather Project). I did sign up for a free online card making summit. Okay I signed up but haven't had the time or energy to even click on one of the videos yet.

Canning (canning meals in jars)

  1. Vindaloo Curry 7/21/23
  2. pork ribs
  3. beef stew
  4. beef stroganoff in a jar (changed to canned grapes) 7/28/23
  5. corned beef & potatoes
  6. white chicken chili 7/6/23
  7. chicken gravy
  8. watermelon lemonade concentrate (originally chicken a la king) 7/10/23
  9. marinera sauce
  10. can 5 pounds of sweet potatoes
  11. pulled pork barbeque
  12. Ham-Bean soup
  13. extra: Peach jam 8/4/23

Weekly Update: This was the week I was happiest that I had prepared ahead of time with premade canned and frozen meals. Opening a canned product at the end of the day and getting a dinner on the table within 40 minutes after working all day is a true joy.

Sewing

Weekly Update: Another hoodie, I will love wearing these this winter. This one is so comfy because of the material I used. It is like being wrapped in a fluffy little cloud.
